ALL ABOUT FACIALS
I’ve been a little boujee/bougie recently…I have been getting a facial every other week for 7 weeks. I wanted to give you all the details.
So I live in Kansas City, Missouri & I go to Salon Oasis & Day Spa. I get a Personal Prescriptive Facial so it’s completely tailored to my skin & needs. It’s a 60 minute facial. I’m going to break down exactly what happens.
I wake up at 8 AM on a Saturday. Tongue scrape , brush my teeth & wash my face (yes, even though it’s about to be cleansed), throw my hair in a pony because I haven’t washed it in 6 days, get dressed, & leave. I’m drinking a bottle of water on my way.
I get in just before 9 AM & the receptionist knows my name, which I absolutely love. I get checked in & grab some water with fresh lemon. My esthetician comes out to take me to the room & then she leaves so I can get changed. I get settled on the table/bed which is heated-huge plus. She comes back in, we discuss how my skin has been, & before I know it, she’s cleansing my skin. She then puts cotton pads over my eyes & looks at my skin under a light. After that, we begin masks. Right now, she is doing this mask/massage/exfoliation/steam situation that gets rid of the little white bumps under the skin & prevents further breakouts. She then takes that off & starts extractions. Again, I have cotton pads over my eyes & a bright light on my face. Once that is finally done, she tones my skin & starts another mask with Vitamin C. While that masks sets, she massages my neck, shoulders, & scalp-I get the chills every time. It’s so great because it’s right after the extraction so it calms me. She takes the mask off, sprays my skin with a sensitive skin mist, & we start high frequency. If you have never done high frequency, I highly recommend it! It prevents acne & stimulates circulation. Google it if you would like more information! Lastly, she puts some moisturizer on my face & we are done!
The main reason I wanted to start getting facials & so frequently is because out of NOWHERE I started getting breakouts in August. When I say breakouts I mean constant, painful, cystic acne. I would normally have between 2 & 4 pimples at one time. If one started to go away, another was coming in. I tried spot treatments & switched my routine-see here.
Nothing was working until I started to get the facials.
I do get a bump around that time of the month, use a spot treatment, & I’m good to go, but I have definitely been consistent with my facials since the first one. I rarely touch my face without washing my hands & I drink as much water as I can.
That’s pretty much what happens every time I get a facial. When I start my day with a facial, I am more particular about what I eat & drink throughout the day & after. It’s beneficial for me to have time for myself, but also know that I’m helping my skin. Follow my Pinterest Board - SKINCARE for different products, tips, & tricks.
